I just moved to Lübeck. Please note my new contact details.
Because Telekom cannot keep up with my speed, you cannot contact me by phone at the moment. I do have a mobile phone number for customers, but I want to keep that account clean from phone and SMS spam and therefore will not publish it on the net.
Please contact me by e-mail – which is a faster and more accurate means of communication anyway.
My original background is in literature and linguistics. I studied these subjects at various universities in Germany and Russia. After the exams in Russian (literature and linguistics), English (literature) and Economics (don’t take me up on that one!), I worked as an employed translator for two years. These years were mainly dedicated to books on programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, SQL, Perl, XML, Zope and Ruby. In 2002, I set out to explore life as a freelancer. Since then, I have broadened my technical horizon to include hardware and software of all kinds – from flash memory to servers and from personal health monitoring to enterprise-class systems management.
You might say that literature and technology are an unlikely couple, but they actually complement each other quite well. The focus on technology keeps my language reader-friendly, while my passion for literature ensures a high linguistic level. Of course, being a real linguist (not »just« a translator) doesn’t hurt either.
There is one thing you will not get from me, and that’s Neogerman. I quite heartily despise this new language composed of Anglicisms, grammar mistakes and spelling errors. In my opinion, it’s unworthy of sensible human beings and an insult to the readers’ intelligence.
